UK Alternative Protein Researchers Receive Share of £17.4m to Innovate in Taste and Nutrition

Alternative protein researchers and entrepreneurs received funding from UK Research and Innovation’s recent £17.4 million “Better Food For All” funding call.

The projects benefitting are working to optimise the taste and mouthfeel of plant-based burgers using locally available whole foods, enhance the nutritional composition of plant-based products, and develop ways of using photosynthetic microorganisms to produce proteins with only sunlight.
